Fall 2005 - On the Road Again!

Once again, it is conference season, and we are on the road spreading the good word about asset management. The new adventure this year is that in addition to Pat's keynote presentation at the Gartner conference (which was a lot of fun and seemed to be very well received), and two other conferences in the US we have "spread our wings" and will also have representation this year in two events in the UK . Please see the Latest News section of this page for more details as they become available. We always enjoy speaking to and interacting with clients, so this is really a great time of year for us.

What we have found out so far during our travels is that the momentum for asset management has once again grown. The Gartner conference had the best attendance since 2000. Almost 85-90% of the attendees were new to the conference which indicates further that organizations are increasing staff in this critical area.

In addition, we, at Cicala, have had a very exciting summer. We have developed a relationship with Eracent, Inc. and formed a new joint venture with them called CE Software Resources LLC. Together, we have developed the .5 version of CSBA (Commercial Software Buyers Almanac) Clarity. This new resource for software buyers is like the "Blue Book" for auto buyers in that they can use the resource to assess their software inventory, pricing and terms and conditions for all of the suppliers they have in their portfolio. Version 1 will be out by the end of the year. Check out our new website at www.csbac.com for more details. Cicala has dreamed of providing this "self help" resource to the industry for 10 years, and we are happy it is finally available. We believe it is really akin to SAM best practice in a box! Finally, the weather has started to cool down in the Northeast. Pat survived Hurricane Katrina (during which she was stuck in Florida - in the hurricane's path). Before we know it winter season (and year end) will be upon us. Happy fall season to all!
